About Me!
Hey there, my name is Emily Walgate and i am an aspiring 18 year old artist from England who wants to create visual work for myself and others. This page is about me and my aims and achievements as a young artist!
Recent life achievements:
During the past two years i have studied Graphic design and Photography for my A-levels. This has been an amazing period of time where i have developed on my style and independence as an artist. Recently, i have been awarded with two grade A's throughout those subjects in which i am entirely proud of. During my exam period i was also working as a part time photographer for my local girls football association which i have been a part of since the age of 6, which has been a pleasure to reconnect and give back into my community.
Previous life achievements:
Throughout my secondary school life i enjoyed hands on art based subjects like Textiles, Graphic design and Photography as it gave me a sense of freedom from my normal everyday lessons, even for an hour or two a week. I took GCSE Textiles and Photography for my exams and walked away with a grade 8 (A - textiles) and a grade 7 (B - photography) which i were amazed by. I have always seen myself as artistic but simultaneously put myself down by comparing myself to others, whether this be style, achievements, and this is something i have worked on closely in the previous months of my life fortunately!
Interests and hobbies:
Besides the obvious answer, yes i absolutely love art and all things creative and visual! However, i also am a keen footballer, thrill seeker and writer. Through my life i have always enjoyed getting out there in nature and exploring ways i can be active, may this be learning how to ice-skate, playing air-soft, going for runs in competitions or enjoying a lovely walk with friends and exploring our local community! I also have a fascination with the British countryside and our coastline, especially coastal villages/cities and even my home towns history! This leads nicely onto my love of boats and fishing which you can see is a common theme for my footers and blog page!
My aims:
I often do not aim for much, i am usually one to go with the flow, however i have stayed in my local college to start a Foundation Art Diploma course which i will finish in the summer of 2026. From then i aim to study and discover how to become an art teacher, however this is just a brief dream i am keen on working towards! nothing definite! But i would also love working in an art studio, and eventually owning my own to hold sessions for children, teens and adults to create all sorts of work to express themselves and showcase at home or publicly.
About my platforms:
Through INSTAGRAM i aim to create work for recreational purposes and for my work to be stored on a digital gallery for my friends and followers.
On BLOGGER i aim to update my followers on changes on my platforms and information about certain outcomes and describe my inspiration through artist pages and references.
When my WIX WEBSITE is complete this will showcase my research on artists with references and also my Instagram artwork.
